Install WhatsApp in Nokia X

when i bought Nokia X , i am surprised there is no WhatsApp and no direct option to install it. so i found 2 ways to install WhatsApp in Nokia-X. checkout below.

1st Way

The idea came from the store search itself when it was pointing to 1MobileStore, a popular Android store, which has the official WhatsApp for android devices. Below is a video explaining how I installed it.

Follow the steps to get the WhatsApp:

  • Search in Nokia Store for app named as “1MobileStore”.
  • Install it and launch.
  • Now since this app itself is a store, make a search again for WhatsApp.
  • The first result should list the WhatsApp, officially from WhatsApp Inc. Take a look at ratings to figure if that’s correct.
  • Install and start using after following up the basic setup.
  • In case, you get an error during installation where it concerns about security. Turn on installation from unknown sources. You will get the option to get there right when the error shows up.
  • Instead of sending out verification code to your number, it will use SMS to verify.

2nd Way

Download WhatsApp directly from its website. open website in your Nokia - X browser. i will redirect to android-store

WhatsApp Is Killing the SMS Messenger

"Carriers have been sticking it to their customers for years with SMS fees that bear no relation to the actual cost of providing the service, and they've been getting away with it because text messaging is incredibly convenient. If there's one thing that sparks innovation, though, it's being ripped off -- and free OTT messaging services like WhatsApp were born out of that frustration."

What happens when an industry gouges its customers for years, and then technology comes along that allows consumers to circumvent the gouger?
Customers leave in droves is what happens, and it's WhatsApp and its ilk that are enabling the exodus.
If you're unfamiliar with WhatsApp Messenger and its brethren -- like the app WeChat -- they're text message alternatives that don't rely on mobile-to-mobile SMS technology. They use the data component within your phone instead.

Short Message Service

SMS is a method of sending 160-character text messages via phones. It was developed as a way to send messages over the stripped-down telephone traffic signaling paths when there was no calling going on, rather than take up chunks of bandwidth space like voice does.
Its beauty is that it's incredibly cheap because it uses hardly any resources, and the resources it does use aren't required for anything else at the time the message is sent.
SMS is cheap, but you wouldn't know it based on the per-message fees telcos have been charging for it -- particularly when roaming.

How to Shoot Yourself in the Foot

The tide has changed, however, and today apps like WhatsApp are providing text messaging over 3G or WiFi.

Telcos may well tell you they don't care about the potential SMS revenue loss, because the consumer simply buys an expensive data plan instead of a texting package.

I'd call it shooting yourself in the foot, myself.

Messaging Over Data
WhatsApp is an OTT, or over-the-top, messaging service, and this new cross-platform SMS alternative has quickly gained popularity.

It claims 100,000,000 to 500,000,000 installs in the Google Play store, which places it in the same Android install range as telephony app Skype and social network messaging app Facebook Messenger. It reportedly transmits 20 billion messages a day.

Tech News World recently took a look at the WhatsApp service and the app.

The WhatsApp App

Crucially, WhatsApp apps are available across smartphone platforms, including within the often-closed iOS environment, so there's a good chance your buddies can play along if you jump in and explain the cost savings to them.

The Android app, available at the Google Play store, is free for the first year, and US$0.99 a year after that. This fee is apparently to make up for the lack of advertising revenue -- WhatsApp doesn't sell advertising.

The app neatly reduces the amount of setup interaction required to get going. For example, it automatically verifies your phone number -- it needs the number because it uses it to route messages -- and it automatically integrates contacts from your address book if they are already WhatsApp users.

That sets it apart from the many interfaces that require you to enter a code to verify a number, or agree to a prompt to import your phone book.

This refreshing approach is prevalent throughout the interface -- there's no login or passcode, for example.

Media-sending is well enabled with photos, videos and audio attachable to a chat -- at no charge. Other features include group chat, sharing location, exact-message time stamps, and history.

Some Disappointments

One big disappointment was the lack of tablet support . WhatsApp is tightly integrated with phone number for identification and can't function if the device isn't able to receive the verification SMS -- ironically.
I found it a step backward to have to stab around on my phone to get a message out with an expansive crippled tablet lying dormant near by. I'd like to use the tablet for messaging as I now use it for email.
Which brings me to the question of email compared to text messaging. Do we really need a text-messaging service over the data connection? Isn't that what email is in comparison to SMS?

I quite like the ordered approach of email over what can be harried SMS -- the option to reply when it's convenient for me -- and I find email certainly works better than voice calls or texts over time zones. Millions of WhatsApp users reckon not.

Part of my email favoritism has been the shocking unreliability of SMS. There's a good chance an SMS won't get through cross-pond, particularly between CDMA and GSM networks -- and the fact that WhatsApp saves your messages, even when the phone is off, and sends cross-network is a major bonus.

Delete un-necessary emails without checking from your Gmail

It had usually been irritating to receive useless emails or spam emails in your account. Few days back I received almost 15 to 20 useless emails everyday amongst those which were useful. Then someone told me about a new feature “FILTER” that Gmail provides you to get rid of unwanted emails.
You cannot Block unwanted types of emails from marked addresses or domain but you can simply set a “FILTER” to move these emails or messages directly to trash and can delete without checking them.
To set a Filter follow the steps below:
• Login to your Gmail account.
• Click on Mail settings and then click on “FILTER” and select “Create a new Filter”.

• Now fill up the field with Filter’s details and then click on “Create Filter with this search”.

• Now select the action that you would like for these unwanted emails by Tick marking on the appropriate box.
• And then, finally click on “Create Filter”.

Now you had set a Filter to those emails that used to disturb you a lot. And no more unwanted emails are going to disturb you from now.

Want to become an App Developer , follow these Steps

Ever heard of any rags to riches stories of app developers? Ever heard of iShoot? Written by a programmer at Sun Microsystems in his spare time, the iShoot game rocketed to the top of the App Store charts earlier this year and earned its creator enough money to pursue a career as a professional developer.

Keith Stuart on guardian.co.uk charts the steps that any app/ game developer could adopt to become a top one.

1. Buy a Mac:

You don’t need a top of the range model; just one that has an Intel-based processor and runs the Leopard version of MacOS X. Any machine offering a degree of maneuverability should be preferred.

Peter Scott, CTO at Connect2Media recommends Mac Minis, "They are more than powerful enough, small and easy on desk space when you already have PCs, three LCD monitors and a bunch of devices. They are also easy to move round, developers can take them home at the weekend if they want to continue work."

2. Getting the SDK (Software Development Kit):

Apple provides the free SDK for iPhone development from their Developer site. Stuart Varrall, Creative Director at Fluid Pixel says, "This includes everything you need to get going, including the development environment Xcode, the iPhone Simulator for testing, performance analyzers, interface builders and the full documentation reference library."

3. Read up on Objective C:

This is the primary programming language for development on iPhone. "It's an extension of C to include object-orientated principles," says Varrall. "It has scripting elements to it, so is easier to pick up than some languages and anyone with programming experience should be able to transfer their skills."

4. Just Start Writing:

Give yourself a project and start working. If you can't face starting out on an original project, Varrall suggests a couple of modification tasks. "The SDK actually comes with a whole host of sample projects that cover most aspects of development. So the best place to start would be to take one of those and reverse engineer it and work out how it has been constructed. You can then build on these by adding new features and create your very own game very quickly."

5. Sign-up as an Official Developer:

If you plan to release your app, you'll have to sign up with the iPhone Developer Program. The standard cost is $99, and you will have to agree to Apple's terms and conditions, and sign and return the contract. It’s important you know that you'll need to sign up in order to test your code on an actual iPhone instead of an onscreen emulator. Once you're on the Developer Program you will receive a certificate, which allows you to pair up with an iPhone device.

6. Gear Up for a Few Months of Hard Work:

Depending on how much time you can devote to it and how many resources you have, developing a game or app could take weeks or months. You also need to face the possibility of dealing with crashes and debugging.

7. Submitting Your App to Apple:

Using an interface which is similar to the one used by music producers to submit albums, a finished app will have to be submitted. The process is straightforward enough- zip your file, upload it with a description, large and small icons and screenshots. If your app is good to go, Apple will take a week to approve the content and it will be made available in the store. If your app has bugs, it may take longer time to review and it may be rejected. In such a scenario, you can fix the issue and resubmit it.

8. Market and Adapt to Survive:

Things don’t get simpler once your app makes it to the App store. It is a possibility that your app has some design issues or a few bugs which is an issue that you will only know about when many users try out your app. In this case, you can submit your modifications.

To garner recognition for your app, you need to stand out in the crowd of over 20,000 apps. You need to have your marketing strategy in place from the inception of the developing process. Blog about your programming procedure, produce screenshots, stay in touch with developing communities, and send out press releases to iPhone news sites. You could always use social networking websites as well.

10 Futuristic Technology to Debut Soon

A number of technological innovations that we only saw in comics and sci-fi novels have come to see reality in the past decade. But if you wonder whether anything could be done to make the present more futuristic, this collection is one that you will have to see to believe.

Here are some of the most futuristic products, according to Mashable, that are in development right now, and could be hitting markets as early as this year.

1. The Invisible Car:
Mercedes Benz designed a car that was “invisible” to the environment (i.e. had zero emissions) and had an astoundingly low impact on the environment. To promote the concept of its invisibility, the company actually made the car invisible. Mercedes says the car is good enough to see the production of its series, but it is expected to only be made available to markets in 2014, according to Mashable’s report.

2. A Space Elevator: Japan aims to build an elevator to space; one that will reach out to a space station 22,000 miles above the earth by the year 2050. The space elevator will contain living quarters and other tourist attractions on board, and will travel from the ground spaceport to the space station at 125 kmph, according to the report. The elevator’s passenger car will be capable of carrying 30 passengers who will reach the space station 8 days later.

3. Driverless Cars: Google received the patent for this technology last year and is expected to use it in cars in the near future. Currently, the technology is being tested at Nevada in the US. The car, on a test, was claimed to be “like cruise control on steroids,” by Tom Jacobs, chief public information officer at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

4. Robotic Assistants: Robotic assistants have helped improve lives, from helping paralyzed patients walk, to picking up tools and assembling heavy machinery. Now although the main paradigm behind robotic sciences is that knowledge of how to program robots is limited to computer scientists and experts in robotic sciences, but a study by the Georgia Institute of Technology in the States predicts that every home will have a robotic assistant to help with everyday tasks, especially since scientists are working on new learning algorithms for machines that could be based on everyday language.

5. Flying Cars are here: Flying cars used to be a part of spoofs in sci-fi movies, especially because of the size of the notion, but Terrafugia, a company aimed at providing innovative solutions to solve challenges facing personal aviation. The car will be available at the 2012 New York auto show for its pre-sale curtain-raiser.

6. Lab-grown meat: Dutch scientists are looking into the possibility of generating lab-grown meat that will be cultured from stem-cells of animal-muscle-tissue. They say it will increase efficiency by 35 percent since the inch-long strips of meat can mashed together to form a fillet, or a patty. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) hopes to generate the same result with chicken by the end of June this year.

7. A Moon Base: Space agencies are planning to build a permanent base with regard to the moon by establishing a station on its surface, or launching a station to orbit it. They hope to further explore life on the moon by doing so.

 8. Mind-reading technology: IBM’s last 5 in 5 prediction revealed the possibility of developing mind-reading technologies, but the blue giant is working towards the development of a computer that responds to signals from your brain. The person controlling the device wears a headset that detects and transmits your thoughts and 7. sends them to a computer which instructs the machine about what to do. The computer will also be able to read patterns in your thoughts so the machine can learn and adapt to your thoughts specifically.

9. Flying Drones: US President Barack Obama is reported to have already signed legislation that allows the Federal Aviation Administration to allow US police agencies to use remotely controlled drones in a few months. The drones could be especially helpful for surveillance, but drone makers are also currently researching the use of nonlethal weapons such as tear gas, and stun guns which could be fired from the aerial drones.

10. Wireless Electricity: Companies are researching the possibilities to make wireless charging of cellphones a thing of the present, with wireless electricity. Other devices, according to Mashable are expected to follow the trend, so one can expect wireless electricity like Tesla’s demonstration to shock devices and people watching.

Host your Website on Google Free

In what looks like a brilliant PR win for Google, the Royal Family of UK has selected Google as the web hosting provider for Prince William’s official wedding website. The site, available at officialroyalwedding2011.org, contains news updates, photo galleries and videos and all this is hosted on Google App Engine.

What’s new here? Web developers have long used Google App Engine to host web apps in the cloud – see Sleeping Time and Tall Tweets for example – but this is probably the first time that Google’s infrastructure is being used to host a ‘static website’ of an event that will get plenty of press attention and web traffic in the coming days.

website hosted on googleHost your own website on Google App Engine

There are quite a few advantages with hosting websites on Google App Engine. First, it should be more reliable since your site will get served through Google’s own data centers.
Second, if you have a low traffic website, it is highly likely that you won’t have to spend a penny for web hosting. You get 1 GB of free storage space for hosting your images, HTML web pages and other files and 1 GB of bandwidth per day. If you exceed that quota, you pay-per-use similar to Amazon S3.
Ready to jump?

With a regular web hosting company, you rend some storage space on their server, you then transfer your HTML and other files to that server using FTP or cPanel and your website is ready to serve. Google App Engine works in similar manner except that the file transfer mechanism is a bit different.

Step 1: Go to appengine.google.com and create a new application. If you have never used App Engine before, you might be asked to verify your mobile phone number before you can create a new app.

Step 2: Give your application a name – it should be unique and may only include lowercase alphabets and digits. For this example, our app identifier is “thisismyawesomewebsite”.

Step 3: The next two sub-steps may scare some of you but trust me, they simply require you download and run two installers in the given sequence.
3a. Download and install Python from python.org.
3b. Download and install App Engine SDK from this code.google.com.

Step 4: Download and unzip this file – website.zip – somewhere on your desktop. It contains a basic website with some HTML pages, images and CSS that we’ll try to host with Google App Engine.

Step 5: Open the app.yaml file with notepad and replace the word ‘labnol’ with the application identifier that you created in Step 2 above. Save the changes.

Step 6: Finally it’s time to deploy /upload our website to Google App Engine. Open the Google App Engine Launcher program from the Start Menu, choose File –> Add Existing Application and browse to the folder where you unzipped the website.
Hit the deploy button, input your Google Account credentials and within seconds, your website should become available online at abc.appspot.com where abc is your unique app identifier. Later, if you add or modify any web page, press Deploy again and your new /edited files will get uploaded to App Engine.
